Adopt Toby

Mixed Breed · Unknown

☎ 02162/ 65 426 ✉ Compatibility with others with other dogs: Yes compatibility with others with cats: Yes, needs additional guidance and training Children in the household: 16 years and older Garden: Preferred Area: Quiet, rural area Toby was found running free and was given to his finder at a veterinary clinic. Unfortunately, his finder was no longer reachable after that, so Toby eventually came to our animal shelter. After his quarantine period, he was placed in an experienced foster home where he shows himself to be a cheerful, open, and very lovable young dog. In the house, Toby meets new situations curiously and friendly – typical for his age, he wants to explore the world, learn, and be everywhere. However, some everyday distractions can still overwhelm him at the moment, causing him to quickly become agitated in hectic moments. Therefore, we wish for him a quieter home without small children. Young people around 16 years old who bring a respectful and careful attitude towards dogs are well conceivable. At his foster home, Toby lives problem-free with cats, several dogs, and even chickens. He is generally compatible with fellow animals, but particularly benefits from a calm and sovereign only-dog companion who gives him security and supports him in everyday life. Like many young dogs, Toby is still at the beginning of his journey: He does not yet know how to be alone, and house training is currently being further trained. His future family should therefore be willing to accompany him with patience, structure, and lovingly consistent guidance. For those who are looking for a cheerful, charming, and eager-to-learn young dog to grow with, train, and experience many beautiful adventures together, Toby is a wonderful companion for life. The socialization of our cats is very important to us. Cats are social animals and need contact with other cats. With the help of a cat behavior consultant, we prepare our cats for their future life with people and other cats. We only place cats in pairs or with a same-aged, already living in the household, cat. Kittens are rehomed together or with a same-aged, already living in the household, kitten, starting at 12 weeks. If you are interested, please give us a call at 02162/ 65 426 or send us an email for information about all our furred friends. The socialization of our cats is very important to us. For the optimal preparation of the first meeting, the general checklist is filled out to clarify the first questions. We take the time with the interested parties to introduce the animal and tell its story. Here, we also clarify the personal living and living situation. Once all questions are clarified, the big moment of personal getting to know each other between human and animal occurs. The first meeting always takes place in the presence of a trainer. The behavior of the dog or cat is discussed again. In the following, the future families have the opportunity to get to know their pet either during a walk or playing in the cat house. The trial stay offers both the dogs and the people the opportunity to get used to the new living situation. About Toby

What life with Toby looks like

Toby is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Lucky Paws North Macedonia in Skopje.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lucky Paws North Macedonia handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lucky Paws North Macedonia will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Toby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lucky Paws North Macedonia early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
