Todd ID No.: 1064854 Breed: Transmontano mix Age: 06/2025 Sex: Male Shoulder height: 70 cm Neutered/Spayed: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Todd – a sensitive boy looking for patient companions Todd (born 06/06/2025, 70 cm) came to us at the Triple A animal shelter in Marbella together with his brother Nero. The two were given up by their family after a truly terrible case of abuse occurred there. Because of his sad past, Todd has remained an incredibly sensitive dog; he shows himself to be quite insecure at first, especially around men. He simply needs a lot more time and a great deal of patience to build trust and thaw out. Once he has taken a person into his big heart and feels safe, however, he proves to be an incredibly loving and very playful dog. At the moment he still has a bit of difficulty adjusting to the loud and stressful life in the shelter kennel. With other dogs, Todd gets along absolutely wonderfully. He is currently being very carefully introduced to a female dog, so that hopefully the two can soon share a kennel and he will no longer have to be alone. Unlike his brother, Todd is much less independent. On walks he intensely seeks out the delicate connection to his people and wholeheartedly enjoys simply being in human company and feeling that closeness. Since a livestock guardian dog lies within Todd, his true calling is to watch over his territory. We are therefore looking for a home with a very patient family experienced with dogs, who enjoys being active and can offer him a good home with plenty of space or a garden of his own. Because he so greatly enjoys the company of and playing with fellow dogs, another dog in his new home would be an absolute enrichment. Given his considerable size, and to guarantee him the calm he needs during the settling-in period, any children in the family should be over ten years old and steady on their feet. Todd is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and has a European pet passport. Before departure he is tested for Mediterranean diseases and has been dewormed and treated for fleas. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean check: Yes Microchip: No Handicap: No Adoption fee: €500 incl. transport Contact person: Larissa Spörl Tel: Email: Inquiry Form

Todd ID-Nr: 1064854 Rasse: Transmontano Mischling Alter: 06/2025 Geschlecht: männlich Schulterhöhe: 70 cm Kastriert/Sterilisiert: Ja Aufenthalt / Ort: Marbella (Spanien) Anfrageformular Todd – sensibler Rüde sucht geduldige Begleiter Todd (geb. About Todd

What life with Todd looks like

Todd is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Todd, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Todd?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Todd on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Todd if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Todd already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Todd isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Todd and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
