Adopt Todi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Todi – a faithful dog whose heart has been broken. We are searching for a home that will never abandon him. Tody’s story breaks your heart, but we believe that its ending can be beautiful. We drove to the hospital where he sat bravely, waiting with hope for every person who entered. Thanks to a microchip, we discovered his past – Todi was previously adopted from another animal shelter. Unfortunately, his previous owner does not answer calls or attempts to contact them. Todi has been abandoned once again. What is Todi like? Todi is currently 6 years old. This is an age where a dog still has many beautiful years of life ahead. He is not a senior, but a fully energetic dog who desperately wants to live by his human’s side. The reality of the shelter crushes him. Todi is currently terrified, lost, and completely unable to find himself in the loud, stressful animal shelter. However, beneath this layer of fear lies a wonderful dog. When Todi feels safe and begins to trust someone, he opens up and shows his true, incredibly gentle side. Let’s not let him spend the rest of his life behind bars. Todi has already lost too much time waiting. A large part of his life still lies ahead. This is the ideal moment to turn his life around and show him what a true, loving home is like.

Schroniskowa rzeczywistość bardzo go przytłacza.

About Todi

What life with Todi looks like

Todi is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Todi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Todi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Todi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Todi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Todi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Todi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Starogardzie Gdańskim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Todi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
