Tommy Shelby2018 | Black | Gypsy Cob | Under 15.2hhAs we all know, life can take us in some thoroughly unexpected directions. The team at Here4Horses want to be able to step in and protect horses and ponies, no matter what the tragic circumstances. Your sponsorship of Tommy Shelby means we can continue to do just that. The story so far...In October 2021 we were contacted by a lady whose life had literally been turned upside down. She had bought a lovely Irish Cob, who at 5 years old had recently been backed and was green but had a very loving nature and was a joy to hack. She and Shelby were enjoying life together and starting to develop a partnership when COVID 19 struck the household and Julie lost both her husband and her father within 24 hours of each other. Shelby’s education was put on pause for a few months while Julie came to terms with her traumatic loss.Unfortunately, several months down the line, Julie then suffered an unlucky but very serious fall from Mr Shelby which would change things forever. She broke many bones in the fall, including pelvis, vertebrae, shoulder and ribs – resulting in a punctured lung and three weeks in hospital. Once on the long road to recovery, Jul

About Tommy Shelby

What life with Tommy Shelby looks like

Tommy Shelby is an adult horse waiting at Here4Horses in United Kingdom.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tommy Shelby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tommy Shelby?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Here4Horses handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tommy Shelby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tommy Shelby if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a horse can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Here4Horses what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Tommy Shelby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a horse comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Here4Horses directly what is included and what Tommy Shelby still needs.
What happens if Tommy Shelby isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Here4Horses early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tommy Shelby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
