adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Toni has found a home! His story: Toni was rescued from the street and is currently a Romania in a foster home. However, foster homes in Romania often mean that the dogs are housed outdoors. Toni has, however, had great luck and is allowed to spend the cold winter indoors and does not have to freeze. The little guy is an absolute dream dog. Outdoors active and a chatterbox. Ready to discover the world with you and very relaxed at home. Toni is a confident dog who enjoys the company of humans and cuddles. Thanks to his foster home, he has already learned a lot in a short time and walks well on a leash. Additionally, he is, with the exception of a few mishaps, already house-trained. Another point on Toni's checklist for the dream dog – Toni not only gets along well with other dogs, cats are also no problem. Toni is a true looker. With his light brown fur, sweet button ears, and alert gaze, he conquers hearts in a storm. Toni is about 34 cm tall and weighs around 8 kg. The little fur-nosed one is just under a year old and thus in the middle of puberty. Anyone who remembers their own puberty knows that the world stands on its head. During this time, boundaries are often tested, and the little rascal will not be an exception. We are therefore looking for people who can accompany Toni through this time with love, patience, consistency, and empathy. It suggests that in Toni's long lineage, a dachshund and a Jack Russell Terrier may have had a hand. Both breeds are intelligent, charming, and character-strong. Therefore, we are looking for people who can bring not only fun with physical exertion but also mental stimulation to Toni. A visit to a positively working dog training class would be a wonderful way to strengthen the bond between dog and human and to learn and be challenged at the same time. Toni travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home and brings his own EU pet passport.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Toni

What life with Toni looks like

Toni is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Toni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
