adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tora has found a home! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. 11-puppy kindergarten saved near a kindergarten! Riva, Ria, Starsky, Ella, Narvik, Tora, Samweis, Ari, Tayto, Easy, and Poldi – a colorful mix of puppies! Here, no wishes are left unfulfilled, and there's something for everyone. The 11 little rascals were in great need: For there were already threats against them, and the kindergarten children had begun chasing them away. But our local helpers had great luck. All 11 were found and are now housed in a private shelter in Fantanele. It's not particularly pretty here, but the pack is safe and waiting for their people. Tora – a beautiful female dog with an unmistakable bedroom gaze. But her tired eyes deceive: Tora is actually a playful, active, and always cheerful female dog. She gets along well with her siblings and is also open to people, and can take attention well. With Tora, you don't just get an eye-catcher into the house – no, you'll also have a lot of fun with her! Currently, she is about 3 months old and weighs around 5 kg. She is likely to grow into a medium to large female dog. Tora is looking for people who don't expect much from her and show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. The occasional mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Tora should always be guided with a positive, reinforcing training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" often what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Starting in late February, Tora is ready to travel and can then be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to move into her home. She brings her EU pet passport with her and can move in after a positive home check. A foster home would also be a stepping stone into her new life! Who falls in love with this pretty mouse? Many thanks to Erika B.! You gave Tora her beautiful name!

Vielen Dank Erika B..! Du hast Tora ihren schönen Namen geschenkt!

About Tora

What life with Tora looks like

Tora is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
