Traum

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Blacky had to fend for himself on the streets - his frayed ear is a testament to that. But he must have had a home once, because - after he thaws out - he turns out to be a loving, friendly cat. He likes to play with balls and a fishing line, but he also loves to be petted. He makes sure not to scratch his humans. So he's actually the perfect cat, if it doesn't have to be a kitten. The only downside: Blacky is always hungry - as a stately 6 kg cat, he eats quite a bit. He had to have some teeth pulled, so he needs a reliable supply, preferably wet food - but dry food is no problem for him either. After an adjustment period, he would like to have outdoor access again, because that's how he knows it from his previous life. Blacky is desexed, dewormed, chipped and will now also be vaccinated soon. If you want to get to know this great cat, you can visit him in 47475 Kamp-Lintfort. First contact:

DE·Show original

Erstkontakt: August

About Traum

What life with Traum looks like

Traum is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Kamp-Lintfort in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Traum, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Traum?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Kamp-Lintfort handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Traum on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Traum if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Kamp-Lintfort will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Traum already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Traum isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Kamp-Lintfort early rather than rehoming privately; they know Traum and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
