Trevor

Male · Young · 1 year

Trevor loves to know what is going on around him but is also quite shy and will watch you from under his house which he enjoys sitting under. He likes his food and treats. He is quite a dominant personality when with other guinea pigs so will need a friend who is tolerant of this. Trevor is looking for a big enclosure to share with another male guinea pig. As guinea pigs love to live in bonded pairs or small groups, we do not rehome lone guinea pigs unless we have deemed it appropriate on welfare grounds. Please note that the minimum accommodation size for a pair of guinea pigs is 140cm by 70cm ( 2ft by 4ft). Pictures of accommodation will be asked for upon application.

About Trevor

What life with Trevor looks like

Trevor is a large young adult animal waiting at Cheltenham Animal Shelter (GAWA) in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Trevor far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trevor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trevor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cheltenham Animal Shelter (GAWA) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trevor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trevor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cheltenham Animal Shelter (GAWA) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trevor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trevor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cheltenham Animal Shelter (GAWA) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trevor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
