Trinity

Mixed Breed · Unknown

For our approximately two-year-old, already spayed female dog, we are looking for a suitable and responsible home with clear structures and dog experience. The young female dog shows herself at the animal shelter as a friendly, generally open companion who initially behaves slightly reserved and attentively observes her counterpart. Once she has gained trust, however, she develops into a very cuddly and affectionate companion who enjoys the closeness of her people and likes to spend quiet times together. Cuddles and a close bond with her trusted people are important to her. Character-wise, she has a territorial disposition. She wants to clearly claim her home and her trusted people for herself and shows clearly that she does not like to share her resources. For this reason, we are looking for an individual placement where she can live as a "solo princess." A household without other dogs or animals is a prerequisite so that she can find peace and fully focus on her people. She needs experienced, consistent, and confident owners who can provide her with clear rules and reliable leadership. People with dog experience, ideally with knowledge of dealing with territorial behavior, can give her the necessary security and help her to continue to develop positively. In everyday life, she shows herself to be eager to learn and attentive. With a fixed primary caregiver, clear routines, and sufficient mental and physical activity, she has the potential to become a loyal and faithful companion. It's important to respect her boundaries while consistently working on desired behavior. A quiet household without much public traffic would be ideal for her. Larger, bustling family constellations would rather overwhelm her. With understanding but clear leadership, she will form a close bond with her people and fully bring out her cuddly, affectionate side.

About Trinity

What life with Trinity looks like

Trinity is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Dormagen e.V. in Dormagen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trinity, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trinity?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dormagen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trinity on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trinity if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dormagen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trinity already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trinity isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dormagen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trinity and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
