Adopt TRONCO

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

TRONCO, one of our most challenging cases. He has had a very tough life. He arrived at our animal shelter after spending a long time isolated and confined in a garden, without care or affection. As days went by, we realized something wasn't working well in his body. HE DOES NOT CONTROL HIS BLadders, meaning he can't decide when to go to the bathroom, and it's something the poor soul can't avoid. We've done all the necessary tests, and there's no solution; we can only hope it's not painful for him in the long run. His damage likely came from a beating or blow to his back that some scoundrel gave him during his hard life, causing that fracture or injury. Despite the mistreatment by humans, TRONCO is not vengeful; he adores all the volunteers and when they open the kennel door, he's all love and joy. We try to take him for walks to stretch his legs and give him lots of affection, but ultimately his life continues to be mostly isolation. He needs a place to live where he can receive the caresses and affection he was denied throughout his life, although due to his condition, he needs a space outside where he won't disturb the daily life of the adopter family too much. The ideal would be a house with a garden, a plot of land, or with outdoor areas. It's important to note that he will constantly be making his needs. He doesn't soil himself, but he can't control it. Are you the person who can change TRONCO's life? If you want to give him that chance, write to us!

About TRONCO

What life with TRONCO looks like

TRONCO is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Arca de Noé in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting TRONCO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TRONCO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arca de Noé handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TRONCO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TRONCO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arca de Noé will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TRONCO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TRONCO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arca de Noé early rather than rehoming privately; they know TRONCO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
