Adopt Tuba

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Tuba is a beautiful, fun, and kind smaller medium size mixed breed, looking a bit in the direction of a Shiba Inu, but she is really small. In her short life, she has already been through a lot - first she was living with a person without a fixed home, so they were living in the car, but at least Tuba was well taken care of by the man, she was well fed and well socialised with humans and other dogs. The man went to prison, and the life was very unstable for Tuba. Then very quickly after coming to the shelter, Tuba was adopted locally, and we thought she is very loved and looked after, but 5 months after her adoption, they returned her to the shelter without notice, due to an apparent illness in the family. So Tuba has been handed around 2 times in her young life, and now she is looking for a forever home. Tuba is energetic as a healthy young dog should be, and she loves to run in the bushes of the dog park! At the same time, her energy and presence is not at all overwhelming, she comes to calmness really quickly, and is very good at being politely by her human's side. Tuba is in general really polite and her presence is so pleasant. She walks very well on the leash, and is used to a life in a home, so settling into her new forever home should be quick and smooth. During her first time in the shelter, she was nicely social with other dogs, and always kind and friendly with all the humans. In her latest home, she lived together with a teenage girl, and she is also used to a life in an apartment. Tuba is a great companion, also for families with children, or people who do not necessarily wish to become champions in canine sports. Of course, Tuba would enjoy activities and training together, but she is not the kind of dog that absolutely has to enroll in professional training groups - a hobby type of agility or tricks training would be fun for her. Tuba is used to a life in a town environment, and could well live in a town or small city - at the same time, she would appreciate walks in the nature, forest and fields, where she can do her zoomies in high grass. Her shoulder height is just 43cm, she is a really compact girl!

About Tuba

What life with Tuba looks like

Tuba is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tuba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tuba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tuba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tuba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tuba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tuba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tuba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
