Adopt Uma (Ума)

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

While people buy purebred dogs for thousands of banknotes, here is this little unwanted puppy quietly and unnoticed dying on the street. A mindless little girl was thrown into the field, now fighting for life. She ran onto the road with her tiny body to stop cars, so that someone would stop and save her from a thirsty, hungry death on the cold, wet ground. She is currently in foster care on the street. But even this is temporary. She's only two months old. And she has already experienced something that no one can even imagine. She doesn't have anywhere to live now, and every day on the street could be her last. It's a very gentle and lovely creature that longs for people and adores contact. It already knows how to love sincerely and be faithful. She wants to meet not just one spring. Help save her. Don't buy—gift her a home, because she dreams of life. She will grow to medium size. We are urgently looking for a home. She doesn't have much time. In the future we will help with spaying.

About Uma (Ума)

What life with Uma (Ума) looks like

Uma (Ума) is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv in Ukraine.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Uma (Ума), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Uma (Ума)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Uma (Ума) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Uma (Ума) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Uma (Ума) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Uma (Ума) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Uma (Ума) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
