Uno

European Shorthair · Male

Uno is a one-year-old white and gray tabby cat who has been spayed and microchipped. He is looking for a home with outdoor access and other cats, and is not suitable for families with children. Uno has a tendency to exhibit redirected aggression, which can manifest as scratching or biting. As a result, he should only be adopted by experienced cat owners. However, we believe that providing him with outdoor access and plenty of stimulation can help address this issue. Uno was given up because he was considered "complicated." In reality, he is curious, open-minded, and enjoys human companionship. He is a young cat who wants to please and is still searching for his place in life. Uno is playful, active, and typically youthful, enjoying exploration, roughhousing, and seeking human interaction. What is particularly notable is his strong affinity for other cats. He actively seeks out social interaction, cuddles, and is heavily influenced by them. Therefore, Uno will not be adopted into a single-cat household - a social cat in a new home or moving with a feline companion is essential for him. For the future, we hope Uno will have outdoor access in a quiet environment, allowing him to satisfy his curiosity and explore the world outside. Uno is a truly wonderful cat who has probably just been misunderstood. Those who give him a chance will gain a loving, lively, and social companion. Email:

E-Mail:

About Uno

What life with Uno looks like

Uno is a medium-sized adult european shorthair cat waiting at Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. in St. Ingbert.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Uno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Uno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Uno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Uno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Uno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Uno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Uno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
