URA

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 14 years

Desecha along with others like her, she was rescued in a village in Granada, and has been taken in by the French association Levriers du Sud, in hopes of finding her a family. Meanwhile, we are joining their search for her home. Despite her years and the hard and sad life that the little URA has lived, she is a charming little dog; very affectionate and loving, active and sociable. She lives with a foster family and is completely accustomed to house life. A few months ago, the little Ura suffered from uveitis in her right eye, and we had to opt for its removal. This does not hinder her from living perfectly now; only regular treatment with eye drops in her other eye is needed to prevent the same issue. She is dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for Leishmania and 4DX (Heartworm disease, Ehrlichiosis -Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis), spayed, with a passport, and an adoption contract.

About URA

What life with URA looks like

URA is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting URA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about URA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw URA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt URA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is URA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if URA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACUNR - Animales Con Un Nuevo Rumbo early rather than rehoming privately; they know URA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
