Adopt Urona

Female · Puppy · 7 months

Breed: Mixed. Sex: Female. Born approx. October 2025. Shoulder height: 50 cm. Gets along with dogs: yes. Gets along with children: yes. Gets along with cats: unknown. Urona - needs love and time Urona is only six months old, yet she has already experienced the cruel indifference of humans. She appeared together with her sister, out of nowhere, as so often happens. So young, and already abandoned to themselves, without a trace of their mother … probably dumped. The two were so frightened that it took a lot of patience to safely catch them in a trap. At the shelter, they can now recover. Urona has already made great progress: Although she is still very timid, the Animaleas are now allowed to approach her and pet her. For her, we are looking for people with a lot of patience, preferably in a quiet environment. Urona is still startled by almost everything; the big, wide world is a bit too big for her. Her people would need to very gently introduce her to proper life so she can leave her fears behind. Are you the person with whom Urona can finally learn to live without fear? Do you understand that she still has a lot to learn, and are you ready to work with her and give her the space she needs? Wonderful!

Rasse: Mix. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Urona

What life with Urona looks like

Urona is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at Nothunde La Mancha e.V. in Lindlar.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Urona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Urona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nothunde La Mancha e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Urona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Urona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nothunde La Mancha e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Urona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Urona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nothunde La Mancha e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Urona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
