Ursula

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 1 year

Ursula arrived at the our shelter after living a life of freedom on a farm with an elderly lady who unfortunately had to join a home. She thus had to leave her familiar environment and be taken in to offer her a safe and adapted solution to her needs. She is a naturally shy cat when she doesn’t know, and will need time, patience, and gentleness to adapt to a new environment and learn to trust. Once she feels safe, she will be able to reveal her full potential and thrive alongside kind and respectful people who respect her pace. In terms of health, Ursula presents a risk of inbreeding. This particularity may have implications for her future health, which her adopters will need to take into account in order to offer her attentive and adapted follow-up if necessary. Concerning her compatibility, Ursula gets along very well with other cats and can therefore join a home where other sociable and respectful cats of the same species already live. Habituated to outdoor life, she will need secure access to the outdoors in order to maintain her habits, explore, and fully thrive in her new living environment.

About Ursula

What life with Ursula looks like

Ursula is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ursula, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ursula?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ursula on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ursula if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ursula already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ursula isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ursula and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
