Weight: 17 kg Click here, pre-adoption questionnaire. Heartthrob of the week. Once upon a time, there was a young dog named VADI, 4 years old, a little crazy in his box... youth and confinement don't make good companions!... was it for this reason that no one stopped to look at his funny face? Indeed, he didn't understand why no one was interested in him, while the many volunteers who spent time with him unanimously said how wonderful a companion he was, affectionate, constantly interacting with his human, the king of the ball and endless walks! His infectious joy and energy were also a real remedy for gloom. And what to say about that sparkling and lively gaze that made him so endearing! Sometimes, he felt a bit sad, he would have loved to prolong those sweet moments of happiness but it was time to go back. However, he secretly kept hope, a small light in his eyes, the hope of a new animal life. Delicious Moments. There's love in the air. This month, marked by the symbol of the heart, staff and volunteers imagined a tender gesture to highlight the animal they would have chosen to love for life, if they had the possibility. "Vadi, my little treasure that will be in my heart forever" Janina Dear Santa Claus, This is Vadi, the little fox from the shelter, at the age of 3, I bite life with both teeth! I arrived here a year ago, found alone, without my master by my side, I didn't understand what was happening to me. Here I am having a great time, I am a big athlete, I love to run, even after toys and if during walks the speed increases, I am the happiest dog, I think canicross might suit me. It can also be said about me that I am a real cuddle, the proximity with humans makes me happy, lots of caresses, cozy nap corners, treats, anything makes me happy. Another important point, I am attentive, I have good basic training, which is important. I'm looking for a home that will do long walks, that will love my affectionate side, preferably with a garden to play ball, that would be ideal for me and finally without other animals, I want to be the only one to enjoy my or my humans. I hope this letter reaches my family, that they read these few lines and that they feel like giving me a super gift, a forever home. I hope 2026 will be my year. Dear Santa Claus, This is Vadi, a 2-year-old border terrier, I am looking for an active person who will love to run and go for walks with me. I have energy to burn, in the park I enjoy scratching, digging, if you ever need to dig a hole, I offer my services. Volunteers like my company, in the box I am a big cuddle, I like to ask for affection, the attention of the person who gives me their time. Outdoors I am rather on walks, smells, environment, there is so much to see, smell, visit, please excuse my independence, I enjoy these moments so precious to me. Regarding interactions, I prefer to have my master all to myself and not have contact with other animals, they are superfluous for me, I don't like them.

About Vadi

What life with Vadi looks like

Vadi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SPA du Gers in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vadi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vadi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA du Gers handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vadi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vadi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA du Gers will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vadi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vadi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA du Gers early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vadi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
