VAIDOSA

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Vaidosa was adopted from our shelter several years ago and lived happily with her family for a long time. Unfortunately, her owners moved to a new home and Vaidosa, at 11 years old, returned to the shelter and found herself without a home again. She is an extremely sweet and gentle dog. She always wags her tail, loves receiving affection, and easily forms bonds with those who give her attention. She also gets along very well with other dogs. She is used to living indoors, walks well on a leash, and loves the company of people. However, she is a sensitive dog, has some fears, is startled by thunderstorms and other loud noises, and does not cope well with long periods of loneliness. We are looking for a quiet family who will have time for her and can offer her a stable routine and lots of attention. Vaidosa deserves much more than spending her senior years in a shelter. She deserves to experience the comfort and love of a family again. She will be given up vaccinated, dewormed, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

PT·Show original

About VAIDOSA

What life with VAIDOSA looks like

VAIDOSA is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at O Cantinho da Milu in Lisbon.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting VAIDOSA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VAIDOSA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. O Cantinho da Milu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VAIDOSA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VAIDOSA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — O Cantinho da Milu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is VAIDOSA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VAIDOSA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with O Cantinho da Milu early rather than rehoming privately; they know VAIDOSA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
