adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Valea has found her forever home! Her story: Valea is a charming, approximately 1-year-old female dog, weighing 7.5 kg and standing about 30 cm at the shoulder. With her short, soft fur in beige and white markings and her sweet snout, she immediately wins the hearts of everyone who meets her. We don't know exactly what Valea's old life was like, but despite her unclear past, the beautiful female dog hasn't lost her trust. She is friendly to people, even children from elementary school age find her delightful. Valea shows a small prey drive; she doesn't like cats. Valea is a small, clever mouse, learning very quickly and eagerly. She gets along well with fellow animals and has no problems with male dogs; with female dogs, she decides based on sympathy. Valea handled her first restaurant visit well, and she has already taken a bus ride, which she did very well. Currently, being left alone is being practiced, which is already going well for short periods. She learns new things constantly and is developing into an excellent family dog. If you're looking for a cuddly, lovable four-legged friend who will enrich your life, then Valea is exactly the right one for you. She is still in her teenage years and will likely question or show some uncertainty about certain rules. But we are sure that Valea will quickly learn the whole dog 101 if shown boundaries with lots of loving consistency and reinforced desired behavior. After the adjustment period, attending a positively working dog training class would contribute to giving Valea even more security and stability, strengthening the bond to her new people, and fully taxing the wonderful female dog both physically and mentally. Valea has a shortened tail and therefore cannot be rehomed to Switzerland. Valea is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be rehomed after a positive assessment. If you have any more questions or are interested in this wonderful female dog, we look forward to your inquiry! She can also be visited upon agreement. Many thanks, Steffi. You named Valea. As of 10.07.

Vielen Dank Steffi. Du hast Valea ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 10.07.2024

About Valea

What life with Valea looks like

Valea is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
