Valentino came to us in February 2023 because the dog had problems with the disabled child in the family. Originally, he came from a Romanian animal welfare association to Germany—but as usual, they couldn't take the dog back. We then rehomed Valentino, but quickly found out that the male dog always had problems with the man in the family. That was also the reason why he had to be returned. Even with us, he selects, for example, at visitors, who he likes and who he doesn't like. And he shows this very clearly. At first, we had the feeling that he was a real women's dog. In the months with us, Valentino has developed a lot. He really likes his male companion and also accepts the male caretakers. For him, it is important to have an experienced person next to him whom he can orient himself by and who gives him security. He is a self-confident, sporty dog who needs a lot of mental stimulation—and clear rules for cohabitation.

Valentino kam im Februar 2023 zu uns, weil der Hund Probleme mit dem behinderten Kind in der Familie hatte. Ursprünglich kam er über einen rumänischen Tierschutzverein nach Deutschland - aber wie so oft konnte man dort den Hund nicht zurücknehmen. Wir haben Valentino dann neu vermittelt, aber schnell stellte sich heraus, dass der Rüde immer wieder Probleme mit dem Mann der Familie hatte. Das war auch der Grund, warum er leider wieder zurückgebracht wurde. Auch bei uns selektiert er, zum Beispiel bei Besuchern, wen er mag und wen er nicht mag. Und das zeigt er auch ganz deutlich. Anfangs hatten wir das Gefühl, dass er ein richtiger Frauenhund ist. In den Monaten bei uns hat Valentino sich ein ganzes Stück weiterentwickelt. Seinen (männlichen) Gassigänger mag er sehr und auch die männlichen Pfleger werden akzeptiert. Wichtig für ihn ist, dass er einen erfahrenen Menschen an seiner Seite hat, an dem er sich orientieren kann und der ihm die Sicherheit gibt. Er ist ein selbstbewusster, sportlicher Hund, der viel Beschäftigung braucht - und ganz klare Regeln fürs Zusammenleben.
