VALENTÝNKA

Mixed Breed · Female

While you were celebrating love and happiness on Valentine's Day, whether with a partner, girlfriend, or maybe just friends and family, we were working. Cats don't wait for any holiday, they need their medication, food, and a clean litter box. And exactly on the day of love, these two kittens arrived from Proseko. We thought they were lucky because in winter there are generally few kittens in shelters, so they could find a home quickly. But we didn't yet know that they are little demons. Valentine, the black tomcat, is somewhat more pleasant towards people, but VALENTÝNKA mostly doesn't let anyone touch him. Such shy ones always end up growing up in the shelter and staying as our shy shelter cats, similar to Vincent and Richie from the squat on Opatov. Therefore, we are looking for a family for them. But not just any family, a patient one that can handle raising these little troublemakers into affectionate pets. A calm family that won't pressure them, but also won't be afraid of them. Both kittens will probably hide for a long time, and it will be especially difficult with Valentine. It will require a large dose of patience. We would also be happy to have temporary care where the kittens could learn to trust people, because with such a large number of cats it's hard for us to achieve in the shelter.

Obě koťátka budou určitě delší dobu zalezlá a zvlášť s Valentýnkou to bude složitější. Bude chtít velikou dávku trpělivosti. Případně bychom byli rádi i za dočasnou péči, kde by se koťátka naučili důvěře k lidem, protože to se nám v útulku při takovém množství koček těžko podaří.

About VALENTÝNKA

What life with VALENTÝNKA looks like

VALENTÝNKA is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) in Czech Republic.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting VALENTÝNKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VALENTÝNKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VALENTÝNKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VALENTÝNKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is VALENTÝNKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VALENTÝNKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) early rather than rehoming privately; they know VALENTÝNKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
