adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Valerie has found her home! Her story: Valerie has settled in well in her foster home. She loves life on the pony farm and is super open and plays with all visitors. She also gets along great with other dogs and cats and all other animals. She can probably also go for a ride on the horse sometime, as she doesn't seem afraid of it. She is smart and eager to learn and will surely make a great companion in all life situations. Currently, she is four months old and will be medium-sized. She still has no experience with puppyhood 1×1 and needs a lot of support. The puberty will also be coming up for her soon – here she needs people who meet her with a lot of love, patience, understanding, and loving consequence and forgive her any mishaps. During puberty, she will likely test boundaries and maybe even forget some things she has learned. Attending a positively working dog training class will also help her navigate this phase and she will develop into a wonderful lifelong companion. Valerie is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and will only be released after a positive our area Many thanks Julia! Your nametag was the starting point for a new life! As of: 28.02. This is a puppy.

About Valerie

What life with Valerie looks like

Valerie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valerie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valerie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valerie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valerie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valerie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valerie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valerie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
