Valtra

European Shorthair · Unknown

Valtra came to us as a stray cat, she was very afraid of people. She hid, wouldn't let anyone near her and preferred to observe everything from a safe distance. But over time she became curious. She began to realize that people can also be loving. With very small steps she gained more and more trust. Whoever sat down calmly beside her was eventually greeted with a cautious head on the knee. Later she even allowed the first petting sessions. And today? Today the fearful cat has become a little cuddly cat. As soon as you enter her room, she is thrilled, runs around your legs, meows for attention and can hardly wait until you sit down beside her. Then she enjoys every caress to the fullest and even demands it herself - exactly the closeness she was so afraid of earlier. It is wonderful to see the development Valtra has made. Now all she needs is one thing: people who show her that she can stay forever. We wish Valtra a home with outdoor access. She can be rehomed both alone and with a suitable second cat.

DE·Show original

About Valtra

What life with Valtra looks like

Valtra is an extra-large adult european shorthair cat waiting at Kreistierheim Böblingen in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valtra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valtra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kreistierheim Böblingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valtra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valtra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kreistierheim Böblingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Valtra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valtra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kreistierheim Böblingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valtra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
