Varta (Варта)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Worthy of special attention. She was adopted by a family as a puppy, but after a year she became unnecessary. Or rather, she became unnecessary much earlier, but she returned to the shelter after a year. After 4 months of living in an apartment without people, where she was only taken out for walks and fed. She went through this hell alone and still remained kind, gentle, and very loving. Now, Varta is in a mass holding area. The person who cares for her daily says, "She is so drawn to people. She really needs attention. And I have 50 souls here, I don't have time." And my heart breaks that this girl seems to be nowhere needed, that no one has time for her, and all she wants is attention. If your heart and home have room for a 17 kg dog that is very sweet, very beautiful, and obedient. Who walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and drives well in a car... this is her - this is Varta! Sterilized and vaccinated. Eats dry and wet food

About Varta (Варта)

What life with Varta (Варта) looks like

Varta (Варта) is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv in Ukraine.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Varta (Варта), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Varta (Варта)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Varta (Варта) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Varta (Варта) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Varta (Варта) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Varta (Варта) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Varta (Варта) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
