Adopt Vasco

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Age: Born on 01.09.2022 Identification: 900 215 Physical characteristics: Very beautiful tabby and white cat. Tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, spayed and identified by a microchip. Personality: Vasco is a large and beautiful cat, friendly, playful, curious who enjoys discovering the world with his big beautiful green eyes. He will feel immediately at home in his new environment and will explore it carefully, not at all shy, he even has a little fascination for household tasks. (Not even afraid of the vacuum cleaner!!!) Very sociable and enjoying the presence of his humans, he will share your daily life and follow you without being intrusive and will enjoy communicating with you while having very good nights. Naturally a bit too greedy, Vasco doesn't joke around meals and won't fail to remind you. Able to be very cunning to get what he wants, you'll have to be careful not to leave anything lying around his litter. Also very playful, Vasco will appreciate having space to expend energy, especially for multiple back-and-forth runs after his bouncy little balls that they love. And despite this beautiful energy, he will never say no to a cuddle session and will quickly snuggle up against you as soon as you are settled on the couch. Background: Found in a garden and entrusted to the association. Ideal placement: In a stable, responsible and attentive home with enough space (minimum 60 m²) for him to expend energy. Contact: Animal available in foster care in Paris. Contact Marie-Pierre volunteer, by phone (evening after 6 pm & weekends), by email or via web form.

About Vasco

What life with Vasco looks like

Vasco is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vasco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vasco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vasco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vasco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vasco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vasco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vasco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
