VASCO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

We are pleased to introduce Monsieur Vasco of the New Age Ast, but he prefers that we call him Vasco, which is much more practical when calling him back. Vasco is a LOF staff dog born in January 2024. He has everything to please you! This handsome fellow (look how proudly he poses!) is very pleasant to live with day to day. Athletic, he loves to play and will be a pleasant companion on walks (he doesn't pull and knows how to wear a muzzle). A fine gourmet, he will always be up for testing your dishes (hide the treats well, though, if you don't want him to launch a raid...). We have also discovered that Vasco can serve as a doorman at the shelter... He enjoys wandering around our kitchen. His relationship with his fellow dogs is generally good, though, as always, a test will be needed to see whether he should have a companion dog at home. His compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Vasco used to sleep in an open cage, which reassures him. On the behavior test he appeared serious and scored 2/4 (a bit rough in play, so young children should be avoided). As Vasco is a second-category dog, the following will need to be arranged: - A training course for dog ownership. - Civil liability insurance. - Registration with the town hall. - A clean criminal record. Come and meet this great Loulou at the shelter!

About VASCO

What life with VASCO looks like

VASCO is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting VASCO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VASCO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VASCO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VASCO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is VASCO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VASCO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Uda Noé de Beautor early rather than rehoming privately; they know VASCO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
