Vensu

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Vensu is a lively and social boy who enjoys playing and having fun. He likes to be with his family and enjoys when exciting and interesting things happen at home. However, he can find sudden and loud noises a bit disturbing. Vensu has always lived as an indoor cat, but we have noticed that he does not quite thrive in that environment, as he has urinated in the wrong places both in foster homes and at the cat shelter where he was an indoor cat. However, we believe this behavior would stop if he had access to outdoor space. He could live with children from around 5 years old and up, as long as they respect him and know that they need to interact with Vensu on his terms. When it comes to children under around 10 years old, he needs a calm and slightly slower introduction in order to feel comfortable, as otherwise he may feel overwhelmed if he doesn't have time to adjust in a calm and peaceful manner. Vensu would like to continue living as an indoor cat in a home that can offer a spacious and stimulating environment. Access to a cat-safe balcony or outdoor area is a plus for Vensu. Vensu has previously lived as a single cat and has done well with that. However, at the cat shelter, we have noticed that he really likes the other cats and seeks them out, so he would like to have a cat friend in his future home.

SV·Show original

Inkom i jourhem 251029

About Vensu

What life with Vensu looks like

Vensu is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Örebro Katthem in 702 16 Örebro.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vensu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vensu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Örebro Katthem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vensu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vensu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Örebro Katthem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vensu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vensu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Örebro Katthem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vensu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
