Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

The two girls are about 4 years old and completely blind. Both are absolutely compatible with other cats, as well as small and large dogs. They are fully house-trained and very well-behaved. They do not scratch furniture, play with hanging curtains, or jump on the table. Administering worming treatments or medications is no problem. They love family life, enjoy being part of everything, are friendly with children, and play carefully, yet incredibly fast. They love to cuddle, can be touched anywhere (even on their belly), and prefer to sleep in bed. Especially Amica is extremely clingy and follows you everywhere. Nayla (black and white, from Bulgaria) was born blind. She has never seen, and her atrophied eyes were removed at the animal clinic in Nienburg when she was about a year old. The eye sockets were closed and have never caused any problems since. She is completely healthy, playful, clingy, and despite her missing eyes, she gets along wonderfully. She loves playing on a large, fenced property with Amica or the dog, climbing up and down trees, and exploring the area. With suitable living conditions, she has also enjoyed life as an outdoor cat. She hunts typically like a cat, even with success. She is super intelligent, incredibly quick, and learns quickly. Amica (tricolor, from Romania) lost her eyes due to a virus as a baby. She came to me already operated, with her eyes removed, the eye socket closed, and the wounds healed. Due to the likely chronic virus, she had all her teeth removed under anesthesia in 2024. Everything here has also healed well. She repeatedly goes through phases where she needs to sneeze a lot. She then appears to have a cold and receives an anti-inflammatory for a few days, after which she feels better. The more she can go outside, the better she feels.

About Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla

What life with Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla looks like

Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Hilchenbach in Hilchenbach.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hilchenbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hilchenbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hilchenbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vermittlungshilfe Amica & Nayla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
