How do I contact the shelter about Vermittlungshilfe?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vermittlungshilfe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Vermittlungshilfe if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Vermittlungshilfe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Vermittlungshilfe isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vermittlungshilfe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Vermittlungshilfe

Pointer · Female · Senior · 9 years

Emma is a 55 cm tall and 22 kg mixed breed dog from Greece, estimated to be born on November 28, 2016. She is currently in 35232 Dautphetal and is looking for a new home. Her current owner is ill and will not be able to care for her permanently. Emma is currently staying with a friend but will need a new home soon. She is a very loving and loyal companion who has been with her owner for many years. Emma has not had to deal with difficult situations on her own and is initially unsure in new situations and around strangers. She tends to bark and keep her distance, but with patience and positive reinforcement, she quickly becomes curious and friendly. She is also initially wary of other dogs, but if they keep a safe distance, she will eventually warm up to them. Emma is an active senior dog who loves going for long walks. She is well-behaved indoors and can stay alone for long periods. She also has a hunting instinct. Emma needs people who can provide her with calm and confident leadership to help her become more confident in everyday situations. She has been living with one other dog for ten years, but she is not very experienced with other dogs. A dog with some experience and a calm temperament would be a good match for her. Emma is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and in good health. Who will give this lovely girl a chance at a new, safe, and loving life? If you are interested in giving Emma a home, please contact the current foster carer, Mrs. Schmidtke, at or .

About Vermittlungshilfe

What life with Vermittlungshilfe looks like

Vermittlungshilfe is a large senior pointer dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
