Vesuv Amiata Etna

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

reserved 1x male & 2x female found animals/suitable for apartment living FeLV-positive Born around 07.10.2025 EKH neutered [x] yes / [] no In the animal shelter since 31.12.2025 / 02.01.2026 ________________________ The three siblings Vesuv, Amiata, and Etna are from a stray mother cat in Amöneburg and were secured and brought to us. They are age-appropriate and very playful and curious, and they look forward to finding beautiful and caring homes. Vesuv is an openly friendly, trusting little guy, outgoing, active, and cuddly. His two sisters are more cautious and observe first, looking somewhat frightened in their photos, but they also enjoy playtime, relax increasingly, and will make great progress in the company of Vesuv or a relaxed partner. We would be happy to find a home for Vesuv with one of his sisters, as they very much orient themselves to him. Etna or Amiata would also be happy to be a second cat with a social partner (like Koshi or Klumpatsch from one of our foster placements). They have all tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus, also known as leukemia). FeLV is an immunosuppressive disease that can lead to secondary infections, such as tumors or anemia. FeLV is transmitted through droplet infection. For other animal species and for humans, FeLV is completely harmless. → More information about FeLV diagnosis can be found here! Fortunately, they are all asymptomatic. Due to the FeLV diagnosis, they can only be rehomed to suitable for apartment living homes, but a secured balcony or other safe outdoor space would greatly please them. We wish them to find beautiful and loving homes where they will receive much attention and hopefully many happy, healthy years ahead! ________________________ (As of 20.02.2026) Vesuv: Amiata: Etna: (Click the images to see them in full size!) It can always happen that an animal shows or develops differently due to changing circumstances both here in the animal shelter and in the new home!

About Vesuv Amiata Etna

What life with Vesuv Amiata Etna looks like

Vesuv Amiata Etna is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vesuv Amiata Etna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vesuv Amiata Etna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vesuv Amiata Etna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vesuv Amiata Etna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vesuv Amiata Etna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vesuv Amiata Etna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vesuv Amiata Etna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
