VHAGAR

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Vhagar, a male dog estimated to be born in September 2025, is looking for his forever family. He is approximately medium-sized, but please note that his adult size is an estimate. Vhagar is sociable but initially reserved. He is currently in a shelter in Romania and cannot be met until adoption. Vhagar is still young and too young to be in the shelter. The environment is noisy, cold, and sometimes frightening. It is not a place for growth or learning to trust the world. He is initially reserved and needs reassurance that he is safe. However, with time, he becomes friendly and gentle. He enjoys human contact and being near a kind presence. Vhagar is not a complicated dog; he just needs someone to show him that everything will be okay. He longs to run, play, and discover life, not wait behind bars. He would like to grow up in a different place, somewhere he can be happy. Vhagar gets along with other dogs and humans, but his compatibility with cats is unknown. He is house-trained and has been identified, vaccinated, and neutered. He is ready to travel with his European passport. Adoption fee: €250. Adopting is loving!

About VHAGAR

What life with VHAGAR looks like

VHAGAR is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at L in l arche de kala.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting VHAGAR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VHAGAR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VHAGAR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VHAGAR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is VHAGAR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VHAGAR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L early rather than rehoming privately; they know VHAGAR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
