Via would love her own sofa to see out her golden days. She is cat‑friendly, dog‑friendly, and genuinely sweet with people. She’s an oldie who can still learn new tricks — she would absolutely sell her soul for a sausage. She appears to be house‑trained, walks beautifully on the lead, and has the loveliest gentle nature. She may be getting on in life, but she has so much love left to give. I truly hope she finds her forever home. Via needs a strictly adult‑only home OR dog savvy children. She is currently very anxious around children and teenagers, and the everyday noise that comes with them — loud music, TV, gaming, sibling arguments, friends visiting — is simply too overwhelming for her right now. She’s a sensitive girl, and it’s clear that a young, busy household is not the right fit. She also needs a quiet, predictable environment, ideally with calm neighbours. Garden machinery such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, drills and similar noises really frighten her. In her current UK home, one neighbour is a gardener/tree surgeon and the other is a family with loud children — both situations terrify her, and she struggles to relax. Most of the time my home is peaceful, and she does cope, but even the occasional raised voice (like telling Skye off, which is rare) can unsettle her. This is why I feel she would thrive best with someone retired, steady, and active enough to offer a gentle routine, but without the unpredictability of children or noisy surroundings. In a calm, adult‑only home with predictable rhythms, she will finally be able to exhale and grow in confidence. In Bulgaria, Via coped far better with her surroundings. The rescue centre was quieter, rural, and predictable — no children running around, no neighbours operating machinery all day, no sudden loud household noises. She had space, calm, and a simple routine. In the UK, the environment is very different for her: More noise, more unpredictability, more stimulation. UK neighbourhoods tend to be busier, closer together, and louder. Children playing, visitors coming and going, TVs, gaming, raised voices, household appliances — all of these unsettle her. Machinery and tools used frequently. Gardeners, tree surgeons, DIY, lawnmowers, strimmers, drills — these sounds are far more common here and they genuinely frighten her. Closer proximity to neighbours. In Bulgaria, she wasn’t exposed to constant noise from next door. In the UK, she hears everything, and it keeps her on edge. She is older now. Age can make dogs more noise‑sensitive, more anxious, and less adaptable. What she coped with before may simply be too much for her now. None of this is her fault — she is a gentle, loving girl who has been placed in an environment that doesn’t suit her sensitivities. In the right home, she will settle beautifully. This gorgeous girl was found dumped in the centre of town. Because she’s large, friendly, and eager for company, she followed people around — unintentionally causing mayhem, as she didn’t realise they were afraid of her. The local neuter centre had to go out and capture her for her own safety and bring her in. They knew me well enough to ask whether I could help find her a home, so she came to me. We believe she’s around eight years old, though she could be slightly younger or older — we don’t know her history, but we’re fairly sure it involved loving people. We had hoped she was simply lost, but sadly that doesn’t appear to be the case.
