Vicky (einäugig)

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Vicky is a spayed mixed breed dog born in December 2021, who was found with her puppy Noah in an abandoned house near the shelter in Svilos. Her left eye was so injured that it had to be removed by the veterinarian Dr. Djura at the shelter. She is now ready for adoption and is eagerly waiting for a loving family. Vicky is exceptionally kind and gentle, and she quickly forms a close bond with her people with her affectionate and attached nature. However, she can also withdraw and relax during quiet periods. In the outdoor area of the shelter, Vicky shows her active side. She is very lively and thrives when she can be outdoors. Long walks are essential for her fulfilling daily life. On the outdoor area, she plays energetically and happily with dog toys. Vicky is selective when it comes to other dogs. She does not like every dog, but she consciously chooses her friends. She plays and interacts even more joyfully with the dogs she finds sympathetic. Her behavior towards cats and other animals is unknown. We wish Vicky a loving home that values her attachment as much as her need for activity - an environment where she can find both closeness and peace, and people who appreciate her strong-willed, loyal character.

HU·Show original

About Vicky (einäugig)

What life with Vicky (einäugig) looks like

Vicky (einäugig) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vicky (einäugig), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vicky (einäugig)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vicky (einäugig) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vicky (einäugig) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vicky (einäugig) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vicky (einäugig) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vicky (einäugig) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
