Adopt Vicky

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Print E-mail Vicky, mixed breed, born October 2021, approximately 35 cm shoulder height, neutered. The enchanting Vicky finally wants to arrive. Vicky is a delicate, lovable female dog who gains trust when met with calmness and warmth. She wants to be liked, to belong, and to be with her people. And Vicky is social with other dogs. At our dog shelter, she quickly found her place in her dog group. No one knows who left Vicky behind or what she had to endure before our Romanian animal protection friends took her in. To be safe meant everything to Vicky: a full bowl, a soft bed, people who didn't want to harm her. And she carries a wonderful trait within her: she hasn't lost her kindness. Vicky meets the world curiously, cautiously optimistic, with a small spark of hope in her eyes. Now, Vicky wishes for loving people who will give her patience and security, a home where she can learn what family life means, someone who shows her: "You are safe. You can stay." With the right guidance, Vicky will become a loyal, gentle companion who shows her gratitude in small gestures – a cautious tail wag, a tentative nudge, a look full of trust. Video:

Drucken E-Mail Vicky Mischling, geb. Oktober 2021, ca. 35 cm Schulterhöhe, kastriert Die zauberhafte Vicky will endlich ankommen dürfen. About Vicky

What life with Vicky looks like

Vicky is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Begegnungsstätte Mensch-Hund in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vicky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vicky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Begegnungsstätte Mensch-Hund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vicky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vicky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Begegnungsstätte Mensch-Hund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vicky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vicky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Begegnungsstätte Mensch-Hund early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vicky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
