adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The little Vicky has found a new home! Her story: 64756 Mossautal. Three years ago, Vicky could travel to her family, but they sadly had to part ways due to her human's severe illness. Fortunately, we found a wonderful foster home for the little mouse, where she is patiently and skillfully worked with on her smaller and larger "projects." Vickys world has become so colorful and vast in such a short time! Walks – preferably with dog friends – are absolutely among her favorite activities, and our hearts swell with joy at how bravely this little mouse leads her heart forward and makes the most of her second chance. In the past few years, Vicky has already made great strides in overcoming her fear of humans. People she trusts can touch her at any time – people she doesn't yet know can stroke her if she decides the time is right and if nothing is demanded of her. Vicky can now also be lifted in almost all situations. Whether driving in the car, in the box, or with the seatbelt fastened, it's no problem. She has even made trips into the city. Children should be older and handle her carefully and empathetically. Our little three-legged mouse with the pointed ears gets along well with all dog buddies. She also gets along well with cat-friendly dogs. We wish for kind humans with empathy, patience, and the willingness to win and deepen Vicky's trust piece by piece. Our greatest joy would be if Vickys world could become a little more colorful and she could fully enjoy her life within her means. A female dog would be advantageous because Vicky loves the company of her fellow animals very much.

About Vicky

What life with Vicky looks like

Vicky is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vicky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vicky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vicky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vicky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vicky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vicky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vicky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
