adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Vida has found a home! Her story: The little Vida is now about six weeks old and has settled in well at her foster home. She lives in the northern part of Germany, in Ostfriesland. Vida loves everything and everyone, she is always so friendly, cheerful, and in a good mood. Due to her size and appearance, we suspect she might be a Parson Russell Terrier. Vida makes life easy for her foster home. She is enthusiastic about all the animals on the farm, and there are plenty of them. Whether dogs, cats, horses, or pigs, Vida likes them all very much. She also greets all visitors to the farm with a friendly welcome. She has a very charming nature and is a truly lovable dog. Currently, she is about five months old and weighs around 5-6 kg. We assume she will reach a medium size, but she has a very delicate build. We can also imagine the little one as a companion in the riding stable or at school. Due to her wonderful nature, she would also make a good candidate for further training as a school or riding companion, and so on. Vida wishes for people who don't have any expectations of her. The little mouse is motivated to learn about the big, new world, but she has known nothing so far. Therefore, she must be introduced to dog training slowly, patiently, and most importantly, with sensitivity. Vida also has puberty ahead, a time when hormones can ride a rollercoaster and young dogs can have wild ideas. During this time, it is important to offer the teenage dogs a consistent but loving guidance. We strongly recommend attending puppy or dog training classes that work with positive reinforcement. After a positive assessment, she will be microchipped, dewormed, and given an EU pet passport. Has Vida managed to make your heart beat a little faster? We look forward to your inquiry! Many thanks, Jagoda! You have named Vida! Date: 07.07.

Vielen Dank Jagoda! Du hast Vida ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 07.07.2024

About Vida

What life with Vida looks like

Vida is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vida, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vida?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vida on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vida if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vida already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vida isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vida and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
