Adopt Víðarr

Chihuahua · Male

Type/Breed: Chihuahua (non LOF) Chip Number: 250269699709441 Character/Description: Here is Vidarr, a one-year-old Chihuahua and true bundle of joy. Full of energy and always on the move, he loves to play, run around and go on adventures with his favorite treasures: small stuffed animals. His favorite game? Catch anything that's around and zoom off quickly in a cheerful "Catch me if you can" (and he often wins). Overall, he is housebroken, although, in his very busy schedule as an active young dog, some small accidents can still happen. Extremely sociable, Vidarr gets along with everyone: dogs, cats, rabbits... even chinchillas. He actually has a real sports passion for chasing rabbits, cardio validated. But, behind this little whirlwind, there is also a big cuddler. Indeed, in front of the TV, he knows how to settle down, snuggle up against his human and ask for scratches without moderation. On walks, he is a real little prince: calm, composed, walking quietly at his human's pace, head high like on a red carpet. A confirmed food lover, he has a weakness for treats and a slight tendency towards human food. Finally, a real clingy dog, Vidarr is above all a heart on legs who is looking for love, presence, cuddles... and an extraordinary human (the option of a food dispenser is highly appreciated). Adoption fee: 282 euros (membership included). Adoption outside of France is entirely possible. The adopter must also be able to visit the foster family to meet the animal. Vaccinated: YES + rabies and passport. To adopt, please complete this form: have this certificate completed by a veterinarian or an ASV and present it to us after it has been signed: Finally, this dog does not suit you or is no longer available? About Víðarr

What life with Víðarr looks like

Víðarr is a adult chihuahua dog waiting at Action 4 Pets in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Víðarr, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Víðarr?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Víðarr on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Víðarr if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Víðarr already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Víðarr isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Víðarr and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
