Vidock

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 14 years

Gender: Male Age: Born around May 2012 (approximate estimated date) Size: Medium (15.5 kg - May 2025) Date of arrival at the shelter: May 2025 Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Temperament: Sociable Progress: April 2, 2026: Vidock is doing really well 🥰 He’s becoming increasingly affectionate and truly deserves to find a loving family!!! He’s full of life, loves going for walks, and otherwise sleeps a lot—because let’s not forget, he’s a grandpa! My cat snuggles up to him for cuddles. In short, he’s adapted perfectly to life in a home. October 10, 2025: He’s truly an amazing dog. The young man is doing quite well; he’s gotten used to the cat but sometimes gives my dog a hard time. Otherwise, he’s a sweetie who asks for lots of cuddles 🥰 He’s well-behaved, barks little, very cuddly, and clean. He’s a top-notch dog 🥰🥰 August 1, 2025: Vidock is doing great and acts like a young puppy when playing with mine. With my cats, things aren’t completely sorted yet, but it’s calmed down. He’s a very energetic dog despite his age and just wants one thing—to be cared for. He loves walks and cuddles, is easy to handle, and his bath proved just how much he enjoys being pampered... In short, he’d make a wonderful addition to any family. July 15, 2025: He arrived at the home very well and is an extremely gentle old boy. He’s calm, doesn’t bark, and the only small issue to work on is his habit of lifting his paws everywhere and anywhere—but I’m hopeful that I’ll manage to teach him to pee outside. He gets along well with my dogs, though I’ve got a bit of work to do with my cats, but I’m not losing hope there either! Sociable, he’s still quite energetic for his age at arrival (May 2025). History: Seized by the animal protection service of Neamt, which entrusted him to us. Positive for erlichiosis and anaplasmosis; negative for Lyme disease, dirofilariosis, brucellosis, and leishmaniasis. Contact: Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Temperament: October 10, 2025: He’s truly an amazing dog. About Vidock

What life with Vidock looks like

Vidock is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vidock, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vidock?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vidock on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vidock if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vidock already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vidock isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vidock and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
