Vienna

Female · Puppy · 4 months

Vienna is a lovely young Patterdale Cross who is thought to be around a year old. She has a wonderful sweet nature and has quickly become a favourite with everyone that meets her. She loves people whether this is interacting playing with toys or having lots of cuddles. She takes treats politely and will engage well with some basic training. She may need a refresher on house training so having a garden could be beneficial but not essential if her adopters are happy to take her out on lead when she needs. Vienna is a pleasure to walk and walks beautifully on the lead. Although we don’t know anything about her previous life, she has settled well and shown herself to be a bright young dog who is keen to learn and take everything in her stride. With her sweet and gentle nature, Vienna could potentially live with children and may also be able to live with another dog following a successful introduction. She is calm around other dogs initially but if able to, she does show off her puppy side and becomes playful. Being young she isn’t yet neutered so would need to live with other females or neutered males. What Vienna really needs is a loving family who can give her the chance to settle into home life, continue learning, and enjoy all the adventures that lie ahead.

About Vienna

What life with Vienna looks like

Vienna is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Pawprints Dog Rescue in Stretton-on-Dunsmore.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vienna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vienna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pawprints Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vienna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vienna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pawprints Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vienna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vienna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pawprints Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vienna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
