Adopt Vincent

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Vincent has grown up together with his sister Corinna, for whom he has taken a great responsibility – as company and protector. He has a fine ability to assess different situations and other dogs and has always made sure that his sister is in safety. Unfortunately, he has been attacked a few times, which makes him feel insecure if a stranger dog shows signs of dominance/aggression. Vincent himself is a very soft and gentle boy who is very popular among his fellow dogs. He thrives on his walks and in the playpark with Corinna, the two of them running so fast that the grass is full of energy. The dog caretakers’ care is appreciated, and Vincent is happy to be petted and scratched – often, but he also has a side where he prefers to lie on his side a bit and chew on something good or just observe and ponder. He is clearly sad when his people have to attend to other tasks and has a great longing to be with someone who has quality time to devote to him. The fence is therefore not so fun for this stylish boy who wishes for forest adventures and bus and play. For our lovely Vincent’s sake, we are now seeking a safe and loving home where he can continue his fine development. The home should be a bit quieter located and one should have a lot of time to spend together with Vincent. Forest and field adventures will be greatly appreciated. No children at home. Vincent can be a lone dog but would gladly share the home with a kind and stable companion. Cats are unclear. It is important to keep in mind that Vincent, like most of our dogs, has grown up in a very protected environment. He therefore must never be pressured where he feels insecure, among new people, and in new environments. Background: Not even two months old, Vincent and his sister Corinna were dumped. One morning at the end of icy November, a bundled-up sack lay on the path to the fence. The sack moved, and faint whimpers were heard inside. Another example of how orphaned pups are treated with a lack of consideration in this region.

About Vincent

What life with Vincent looks like

Vincent is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundhjälpen in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vincent, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vincent?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundhjälpen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vincent on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vincent if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundhjälpen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vincent already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vincent isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundhjälpen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vincent and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
