Adopt Vincent (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other details like size are subjective. Vincent Born October 2018 Gender male dog Breed mixed breed Size small, approx. 30 cm Foster home Vincent found his "forever home" in a flash, wrapping his new Frauchen around his finger. The little charmer 🙂 VINCENT arrived at his foster home near Mainz. His build reminds one very much of a Pomeranian. He has a very beautiful and rather unusual fur color and a soft plush coat. Due to his Pomeranian heritage, his front legs are slightly bent, but he runs without any limitations or pain, even up stairs. His nature is friendly, open, people-oriented, curious, playful, cuddly, clever, alert, and robust. Vincent was quickly house-trained. He walks well on a leash and usually meets other dogs very open and curious. He notices cyclists without reacting, travels comfortably in the car and elevator. Unknown situations initially unsettle him, then he whines and retreats, but once he realizes nothing is happening to him, he calms down quickly and adapts to the new situation. He is a playful companion who, with loving consistency, education, and training, will become a great family dog. No experience with small children and cats yet, older children are no problem. We wish for him a home with as few stairs as possible, ideally ground-floor. For more information, please fill out the Referral Form or contact us at the phone number provided. About Vincent (vermittelt)

What life with Vincent (vermittelt) looks like

Vincent (vermittelt) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vincent (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vincent (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vincent (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vincent (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vincent (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vincent (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vincent (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
