Adopt Vlad

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Does Vlad have a chance for a better tomorrow? Will there be someone in a world full of forgotten beings who looks at an ordinary brown kitten and sees something extraordinary in him? Does Vlad, a four-month-old kitten with a difficult past, have a chance for a loving home? Life has not been kind to him. He was hit by a car or brutally kicked, suffering a broken jaw and damage to the radial nerve of his paw. His jaw has healed crookedly, giving him a unique look – thus Vlad, my little "vampire" kitten, was born. But Vlad is not just a victim of unfortunate events. He is a kitten fighting for a better tomorrow. Despite his fear and difficult start, he is opening up to people. Every day he makes progress and learns to trust. There is also hope that his paw will partially regain its function through rehabilitation. Vlad is four months old, vaccinated, de-wormed, and ready to finally feel what it means to be in a real home. Please! Don't let his life end in a gray shelter reality!

About Vlad

What life with Vlad looks like

Vlad is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vlad, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vlad?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vlad on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vlad if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vlad already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vlad isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vlad and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
