Walek

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 1 month

Walek came to our animal shelter when he was 5 weeks old... Along with him, his sibling also arrived. They were confused and simply feared the completely new situation. Hundreds of barking dogs around, without a mother, who they so badly needed, but the puppies were found without her. This is where he grew up. He was taught everything by the Volunteers. He knows how to walk on a leash and allows himself to be petted. When you extend your hand, Walek presents his snout for petting. He lies on his back and shows his belly. When you extend your hand to one of the dogs, the whole trio comes running. They have become very fond of closeness. They are still learning what love and caresses are. Seeing a person brings them endless joy. Walek literally jumps with happiness. As soon as someone comes in and enters the cage to take him for a walk, Walek is very happy about it. His joy in such moments cannot be described. The trio of the last brothers, who are sitting together in one cage. They were named by us Kindery - because to us they are just kids! Until recently, an older friend was in their cage. He was like a boss for the brothers. Always close to him. Unfortunately, some time ago their Boss left, and they were left without him... But Kindery don't give up and keep moving forward. They are getting better and better at walking on a leash. There is not a trace of aggression in them. A loving and responsible home is needed for Walek. A family that will understand that he never had a home and that he will need some time to find his way in the new situation. The best would be a home with a yard or an active family that can provide him with the appropriate amount of physical activity. It would be good for Walek to have a dog companion in the new home, but it's not necessary. Walek was born in 2017. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

To tutaj dorastał. Zawsze blisko niego. Kasia 507 237 447

About Walek

What life with Walek looks like

Walek is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Walek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Walek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Walek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Walek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Walek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Walek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Walek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
