Waleria

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Waleria arrived at our shelter from Walerianowa, and from the very beginning, she showed herself to be a delicate, calm cat who desperately needs a sense of security. Her start at the animal shelter wasn't easy—she required treatment and was diagnosed with a viral illness (cat coronavirus). Today, that is already in the past. Waleria feels good. What remains unchanged is her gentle nature. In contact with humans, she is subtle and calm—she doesn't push for attention, but when she feels more secure, she gently seeks closeness and support. She highly values human presence and gentle gestures. Waleria is more of a "couch cat" rather than a sportster. She prefers lounging, naps, and playing with a fishing rod version while lying down. Running and chasing leave that to others. She would find her ideal home in a place where someone appreciates her calm pace and soft, feline daily routine. We are looking for a safe, warm home where she can finally just be herself—calm and delicate Waleria.

PL·Show original

Waleria to kotka raczej z tych „kanapowych”. Nie jest typem sportowca - woli wylegiwanie się, drzemki i zabawy wędką w wersji na leżąco. Bieganie i gonitwy zostawia innym.

About Waleria

What life with Waleria looks like

Waleria is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko Skałowo in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Waleria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Waleria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Skałowo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Waleria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Waleria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Skałowo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Waleria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Waleria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Skałowo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Waleria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
