Walter

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Schutzgebühr: 270 Euro text-decoration: none; border: 1px solid ; background-color: ; Meet Walter, a handsome and affectionate 1.5-year-old boy who is patiently waiting in Romania for his chance to find a loving family. When Carmen found him living on the streets, she couldn't bear to leave such a friendly and gentle cat behind. Since then, Walter has been living safely in her apartment alongside many other cats and dogs, and he gets along wonderfully with everyone. Walter is a true sweetheart who enjoys attention, cuddles, and spending time with people. He would thrive in a foster or forever home where he can share his loving personality and finally become a cherished member of the family. 💌 If Walter has captured your heart, we'd be happy to tell you more about him. All our cats travel with an EU pet passport and are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered (except kittens), treated against parasites, and tested for FIV and FeLV. Unless stated otherwise, our cats are not placed in single-pet households. Tatzencrew Adoption Questionnaire

About Walter

What life with Walter looks like

Walter is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tatzencrew e.V. in Neuhausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Walter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Walter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tatzencrew e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Walter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Walter if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tatzencrew e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Walter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Walter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tatzencrew e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Walter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
