Wanda

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Wanda – delicate female dog seeking trust &; Wanda is a young mixed-breed female dog, born on 22.11.2025, who has come to us from Romania. She is just at the beginning of her life – and now seeks people to accompany her on this journey. Currently, Wanda is still very shy and cautious. Many things are new to her, and she needs time to build trust. But with patience, calm, and loving guidance, she will surely open up and gain confidence step by step. Wanda gets along very well with other dogs – she likes to orient herself around them and could benefit from a confident only dog in her new home. Of course, Wanda is still a true puppy: playful, curious, and full of potential. Things like house training, leash walking, and daily routines are still to be learned – but that's also the beautiful task of growing together. &; Wanda can be rehomed starting from 13.04.2026.

Wanda – zartes Hundemädchen auf der Suche nach Vertrauen &; Wanda ist eine junge Mischlingshündin , geboren am 22.11.2025 , die aus Rumänien zu uns gekommen ist. Sie steht noch ganz am Anfang ihres Lebens – und sucht nun Menschen, die sie auf diesem Weg begleiten. Aktuell zeigt sich Wanda noch sehr schüchtern und vorsichtig . Vieles ist neu für sie, und sie braucht Zeit, um Vertrauen zu fassen. Doch mit Geduld, Ruhe und liebevoller Führung wird sie ganz sicher auftauen und Schritt für Schritt an Sicherheit gewinnen. Mit anderen Hunden ist Wanda sehr gut verträglich – sie orientiert sich gerne an ihnen und könnte von einem souveränen Ersthund im neuen Zuhause profitieren. Natürlich ist Wanda noch ein echtes Hundekind: verspielt, neugierig und voller Entwicklungspotenzial . Dinge wie Stubenreinheit, Leinenführigkeit und Alltagsroutinen muss sie noch lernen – aber genau darin liegt auch die schöne Aufgabe, gemeinsam zu wachsen. &; Wanda kann ab dem 13.04.2026 vermittelt werden. Bei ernsthaftem Interesse darf aber gerne schon vorab eine ausgefüllte Selbstauskunft an das Tierheim geschickt werden. Für Wanda wünschen wir uns ein Zuhause bei Menschen mit Herz, Geduld und Verständnis für einen jungen, noch unsicheren Hund – Menschen, die ihr zeigen, wie schön und sicher das Leben sein kann. Wer Wanda diese Chance gibt, bekommt eine treue Begleiterin, die mit jedem Tag mehr Vertrauen fasst und ihr Herz öffnet. &;&;

About Wanda

What life with Wanda looks like

Wanda is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
