adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Wanda is looking for a new home…an update will follow soon… Her story: As the sun rises, our sunbeam Wanda explores the landscape with her giant paws. She discovers the world with enthusiasm and full of joy. Wanda has a particularly beautiful fur pattern in light brown tones and enchants with her dark button eyes, her gaze directly into the heart. A true looker! The now approximately 5-month-old puppy girl is a carefree, lively, and very cheerful female dog, with many ideas. Through her background, the little girl is rather fearless and very attached to humans. Since the end of September, she has lived in a foster home with a large pack and loves to play with her fellow animals and is delighted with every affection and pat. She has already adapted herself very well within a short time. Wanda is already very independent and has chosen her own sleeping spot, where she already sleeps through and is already house-trained. She also does not lack self-confidence, she has a strong character and knows what she wants. The little mouse lets herself be easily fitted with a collar and leash and already goes quite well on a leash. Still, Wanda is a small puppy, but she will likely grow into a beautiful, probably medium-sized female dog. She is a very smart puppy that wants to please people. In a few months, Wanda will then enter puberty, which may bring everything she has learned so far into question. Rules will be questioned, and the boundaries will be retested. Therefore, we recommend her new human to work with a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen her self-confidence, solidify the bond to her trusted people, and physically and mentally challenge her. Originally, Wanda came with her eight siblings from Baia Mare, Romania. The few-day-old fluffy siblings were hung in a plastic bag on a tree and left to their fate, but were found and saved in time. Loving people fed each of them individually with a bottle every few hours and raised them to playful puppies. Then, all nine siblings were ready to start a new life, but they all still overcame the Parvo virus, which the little fighters managed to overcome unscathed. Has the sweet Wanda wrapped you around her little finger? Then contact us and get to know her personally. Stand: 05.10. Thank you to Andrea N. for giving Wanda her pretty name and thus a personal identity. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 05.10.2024

About Wanda

What life with Wanda looks like

Wanda is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
