adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Wasco is a young male dog who loves movement, play, and proximity to others. He is curious, open, and actively seeks contact with humans. Throughout, he shows friendliness, playfulness, and great openness – a dog who is eager to be part of things and quickly adapts. His start in life was far from easy. His mother, a medium-sized female dog, was driven away by humans and sought protection in the garden of an older woman. There, she gave birth to her puppies. Seven little dogs, without security, without clear perspective. Thanks to engaged helpers, some of the puppies could be secured – Wasco belongs to the lucky ones who are now in safety and waiting for their own home. Wasco gets along well with other dogs and even knows cats. Since his mother is medium-sized, Wasco is likely to develop towards being medium-sized rather than remaining small. Wasco is still at the very beginning of his life. Everything that belongs to a daily routine at home must be learned – from house training through to fixed routines and dealing with new situations. Puberty also lies ahead: a phase where boundaries are tested and behavior can change. This is normal, but requires people who remain calm, clear, and reliable. A positively working dog training class can be very helpful and aids in creating a good foundation from the start. Wasco is microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed and can be adopted after a positive. If you have a desire for a young, active dog and are ready to accompany him on his journey, you will find in Wasco a great companion. Many thanks to his namesake Manon B.! You gave Wasco his name. As of: 24.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Wasco

What life with Wasco looks like

Wasco is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wasco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wasco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wasco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wasco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wasco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wasco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wasco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
