Wasyl

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Wasyl is a charming young fellow in a terrier type. He is estimated to be 1.5 years old. He arrived at our shelter in August 2023. Initially, he was very frightened, but after his first walk, he felt more secure. It’s likely he experienced harm from a human, but despite this, he remains a trusting, good-natured dog. During walks, when anything startles him, he seeks comfort from humans. He is a sharp young dog, curious about everything that surrounds him, constantly snuffling, looking around, and interested in almost everything. He has a fiery temperament, but during walks, he is calm and balanced. He loves the company of other dogs and eagerly approaches them. He also has a very good influence on them. He has been with us for a relatively short time, but it can confidently be said that he is a very positive, family dog. Additionally, he is handsome, and his floppy ears add to his charm. It would be a shame for this young, attractive, friendly dog to spend time in an animal shelter.

Wasyl to uroczy młodzieniec w typie teriera. Oceniony jest na 1,5 roku. Trafił do schroniska w sierpniu 2023 r.

About Wasyl

What life with Wasyl looks like

Wasyl is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wasyl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wasyl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wasyl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wasyl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wasyl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wasyl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wasyl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
