A lady named Asia informed us about him. She has been feeding feral cats for many years. This black male cat has been appearing there for several years. In March 2018, he disappeared for a week. When he returned, it turned out that he had a missing paw, which literally hangs on one hair. How much this cat must have suffered... Lady Asia asked us for help. With great difficulty, she finally managed to trap the wild male cat in a carrier, and we immediately went with him to the clinic, where, after basic tests, they immediately proceeded with the amputation of the paw. It turned out that the limb was already in an advanced state of decay, the tissue infected, and the bones visible on the outside were dried out 🙁 The kitten was already emaciated and dehydrated. Tests for FIV and FeLV were also conducted, which fortunately turned out to be negative. The kitten has not yet been neutered due to his weakness caused by the infection. After the amputation, he received antibiotics, and during control tests, it turned out that the wound is healing very well and the kitten feels quite good. He manages on three legs, can run very quickly, and jump where he wants. He is reacting better and better to people, although he still hides under the bathtub when he sees people. He is our foundation's elderly cat - he takes care of all the little ones 🙂 Before Węgielek, there is still neutering and further control tests. Poinformowała nas o nim pani Asia, która od wielu lat dokarmia koty wolno żyjące. Ten czarny kocur pojawiał się tam od kilku lat. W marcu 2018 r. zniknął na tydzień. Po powrocie okazało się, że ma urwaną łapkę, która dosłownie wisi na jednym włosku. Jak bardzo ten kot musiał cierpieć… Pani Asia poprosiła nas o pomoc. Z trudem, ale w końcu udało się jej zamknąć dzikiego kocura w transporterze, a my od razu pojechaliśmy z nim do lecznicy, gdzie po wykonaniu podstawowych badań, natychmiast przystąpiono do przeprowadzenia zabiegu amputacji łapki. Okazało się, że kończyna jest już w zaawansowanym stanie rozkładu, tkanki kikuta zakażone, a widoczne na zewnątrz kości uschnięte 🙁 Kotek był już wychudzony i odwodniony. Przeprowadzono też testy FIV i FeLV, które na szczęście okazały się ujemne. Węgielek na razie nie został wykastrowany ze względu na jego osłabienie spowodowane zakażeniem organizmu. Po zabiegu amputacji dostał antybiotyk, a na badaniach kontrolnych okazało się, że rana goi się znakomicie a Węgielek czuje się całkiem dobrze. Radzi sobie na trzech łapkach, umie bardzo szybko biegać, wskakiwać tam, gdzie chce. Coraz lepiej reaguje na człowieka, chociaż dalej na widok ludzi chowa się pod wanną. Jest naszym fundacyjnym kocim wujkiem- opiekuje się wszystkimi maluchami 🙂 Przed Węgielkiem jeszcze kastracja i kolejne badania kontrolne.
